I have just been to the most amazing Kirtan Festival and wanted so say if you have never been to one YOU MUST, they are simply uplifting! If you are wondering what a kirtan is, they are when people come together in large numbers and sing, essentially what are ancient yogic songs. They start off slowly and build and build until the energy is electric. It is believed that collective signing helps us to grow spiritually, it bestows peace, harmony and happiness. It also creates wonderful vibrations which destroy the negativity in the atmosphere. And I can vouch for this! OM SHANTI SHANTI SHANTI If you have ever thought of visiting an Ashram but aren't wanting to travel as far as India, we are blessed with having this very special Ashram in the most beautiful countryside of Wales. An experience out of this hectic world.

Having just come back from my second visit to this glorious retreat at the Benerris Beach I just want to do yoga outside all the time. And if you really want to get closer to nature book yourself into one of the Pagodas. We enjoyed 3 hours of yoga every morning, followed by a delicious vegetarian lunch, and hit the beach for the afternoon. You can't get much better than that! Earlier this summer I took part in my very first 'Yoga Flash Mob'.
The event was led by Karen Atkinson from York House, in aid of Sports Relief (click here to donate). As we jumped into action, passers-by were more than a little surprised. Some were even inspired to join in! See if you can spot me somewhere in the middle... |
