Every now and again most of us benefit from periods of solitude, yet we struggle with the concept for fear of feeling lonely and running from silence at every opportunity. However, it is during periods of savoured solitude that we can truly get to know ourselves better, with feelings of loneliness evaporating when one cultivates the patience to be absorbingly attentive.
It is during one to one sessions that space for this quieter work can be fully embraced, and is the reason why yoga was traditionally taught in this way. Whilst the essence of every living thing shares the same vital source, the manifestation of this life force in each of us varies vastly from person to person. And working on an individual basis enables the yoga practices to be specific to one’s character, whether we acknowledge our disposition from the outset or whether this is something we are still to discover.
Having once gained insight into what makes us tick, or what triggers us, only then can we look to better manage our lives. If we identify strongly with the physical body such as many pleasure seekers do, then this dominance can be attuned to embrace our other realms; in the same way that physically active people strongly identify with the energy body; and analytical people with the mental body. Whilst our underlying characters are what makes us, us, they are what also makes us feel disconnected and lacking. And more often than not, having this knowledge experientially, rather than just cognitively, can be enough to open us up and have us feeling fuller.
one to one sessions are available upon request £40 per hour’s session (or £140 for 4 pre-booked)
